Wow, no matter how many sites i’ve started, how many blogs i’ve helped create, and how many profiles on the numerous amount of pages that you can find me on the web, the first post is ALWAYS the hardest to write. You don’t know how you should introduce yourself and your site, or more so if anyone cares to read it. I mean really, why should you care about what I blog/write about? What could I possibly have to offer you that you can’t find on bigger named sites that you already visit 3-5 times a day? Well, the real truth is…nothing. Yea, nothing. It’s pretty tough coming up with stuff these days that no one else hasn’t written about yet. Everything I write about or give away can probably be found elsewhere on the web if you have the time to search for it.
But think of it this way. Websites are a lot like real estate and local businesses now. There are SO MANY friggin’ websites to choose from for anything you could be looking for. Now I don’t know about you, but I come from a pretty small village (that’s right, not a town, a village), and because of this, I have a mentality to support my local stores and what not before I head over to a big corporate place (Jerry’s Groceries before Super Walmart). Even though it may be more of a convenience to go to Walmart, the smaller businesses are what keeps a town going and growing. It’s the same concept for the web. If all we had were Walmarts online (amazon, iTunes, Overstock, Facebook, and uh…Walmart), then there would be no room for the little guy to make something of himself. Those big websites aren’t a bad thing, but by all means, if someone with an individually ran website has some valuable content for you, then by all means, support him/her first.
And that my friends, is what I’m offering you and what you can expect on this site. From marketing tips and the best products to use, to free weekly giveaways, add and follow me and you won’t regret it.
Until the next post,
- Jimmy
